![]() Once I connect, everything shows up and works normally. Thanks everyone.įYI the attached screenshot is with WiFi on, but not connected. If it’s a feature removal, I’d be very disappointed. Seriously, if someone could please confirm whether this is a bug or a feature removal, I’d really really appreciate it. ![]() Otherwise, it looks just like the attached screenshot. For me, after I updated to iOS 17, I MUST connect to my WiFi network to even get the drop down to choose a TV. For them, Bluetooth and WiFi merely need be turned on to work, again just like AirDrop and AirPlay. My iPhone, which has just been updated to iOS 17 exhibits this issue, whereas the iPhones of others I know who haven’t yet updated to iOS 17 (most are on some version of 16) all work flawlessly without connecting to my WiFi network. It used to work just like AirPlay and AirDrop in that you didn’t even have to “reconnect” or “re-pair” the iPhone and the Apple TV every time you wanted to do something (like you would a Bluetooth speaker or keyboard). If anyone’s trying to grasp why this is a big deal for me, just imagine AirPlay, AirDrop and even Bluetooth speakers all requiring a direct WiFi connection to your home router. ![]() It only works as long as the iPhone controller is in proximity of the Apple TV. And best of all, it’s all local and network-free. It’s like AirPlay, you just add the guest iPhone to the list of allowed devices, and they get to do basic things like flip through Apple TV content, and even perform HDMI CEC control of TV power and AVR volume, all from their iPhone. Peer to peer remote control of my Apple TV from my iPhone was one of the best things about using Apple TV. Really hope someone can confirm that this is merely a bug, because if it isn’t, I’d be greatly disappointed. The app is available for free on the Apple Store and offers you many more possibilities than the above mentioned examples. This is a major pain as it is the core of my home music system. The iTunes Remote application that was developed by Apple is probably the solution to your problems if you use Apple Music or Apple TV. iTunes remote no longer finds library Apple remote used to find the iTunes library on my Acer Pc but it stopped working, it still finds the library on my old HP PC but no longer on the new Acer. Have you ever listened to music on your Mac or PC and wanted to change playlists or artists from your couch without having to get up and pick up your iPhone or iPad? Maybe your speakers were only paired to your computer or you've simply misplaced your Apple TV remote? ![]()
